Ways to track TCI Express

How to track your TCI Express shipment

  1. Find your number on the receipt TCI Express handed you when you booked the shipment, usually the lorry receipt (LR or bilty) number.
  2. Type that number into the tracking box above, exactly as printed, with no extra spaces.
  3. Press track to see the latest status and roughly how far your goods have reached.

TCI Express tracking number format

TCI Express gives you a number when you book, and it is printed on the receipt you get at the counter. It might be called the lorry receipt, the LR or bilty number, or a consignment number, depending on what you booked. Keep that receipt safe, because the printed code is what you need for TCI Express courier tracking and it is the quickest way to look things up later. If the number ever fails to pull up your shipment, ring the branch that booked it and read the code out to them.

Overview

About TCI Express

TCI Express moves goods by road across India. It is a surface transport and logistics company, so the work is the everyday kind: picking up a consignment in one town, carrying it by lorry, and handing it over at the other end. Some people send a single carton. Others book a larger lot. Either way, when you book, the receipt you are given carries a consignment number. That number is what ties your goods to their record, and it is what you use to follow the journey.

This page is meant to make checking simple. Enter your number in the box above to check the latest status of your consignment. You will usually find it printed on the booking slip or the lorry receipt handed to you at the counter, so keep that paper somewhere safe. Type the number just as it is written, letters included. Once it goes through, the most recent update recorded against your shipment should come up. Nothing complicated about it. It is just a quick way to see roughly where things have reached.

A couple of honest things help. If you have only booked your goods a short while ago, wait a few hours before you look. The first scan often does not appear straight away, because the consignment has to be entered and handled at the branch first. So a blank result early on is normal. Do not read too much into it. Hold on to your receipt until the goods are delivered and signed for, as you may need that number more than once. And if the shipment seems to sit in one place far longer than it should, a phone call tends to sort it out fastest. Ring the branch where you booked, or get in touch with TCI Express customer care, and keep your number handy when you do.

Why TCI Express?

TCI Express courier tracking, and a bit about the work behind it

Most of us only think about a courier when we are waiting on something. A signed document. A parcel a relative posted last week. TCI Express does this sort of work, carrying papers and packages from one person to another between towns and cities. If your receipt has a number on it, TCI Express courier tracking lets you see where your item has reached, and you do not have to ring anyone to find out. Here is a plain look at how a service like this grows, step by step.

  1. First few consignments

    Logging each load

It begins small. A few customers nearby hand over documents and packages, each one written down and given a number so it can be traced later.

  2. A name people trust

    On-time deliveries

People come back when their parcels arrive safe and more or less when promised. Word gets around the local market. Soon more shops and families are sending things this way too.

  3. Spreading across regions

    Linking more towns

Bit by bit the service links up with more towns, often by working alongside carriers who run the longer stretches. A parcel booked in one place can be handed over somewhere far off.

  4. What happens now

    Check it online

You book an item, take a receipt with a number on it, and check the progress online whenever you like. Same idea as before. Just easier to keep an eye on from your phone.

None of this counts for much unless the everyday parts are done properly. A careful pickup. Honest handling on the way. A delivery that actually shows up. That is what a courier gets judged on, in the end. So if you have sent something, or you are waiting on a parcel, keep the receipt somewhere safe and use the number on it to check the status. It saves you a phone call, and it tells you what you wanted to know in a few seconds.

How your TCI Express shipment reaches you

  1. 1

    Booking and pickup

You book your parcel and TCI Express creates a docket or AWB number for it, and that single number stays with your shipment the whole way.

  2. 2

    Scanned into the network

Once it is picked up, your parcel gets its first scan, so the system now knows it exists, where it started, and the trip is officially under way.

  3. 3

    Sorted at origin hub

At the starting hub your parcel is grouped with others going the same way and sorted by destination, so it ends up on the right route to your city.

  4. 4

    Carried between hubs

Now your parcel moves by road or air from one city hub to the next, and each scan along the way feeds your TCI Express courier tracking so you can follow it.

  5. 5

    Reaches nearest hub

When your shipment lands at the hub closest to your address, it is sorted for local delivery and loaded onto a van that is heading your way.

  6. 6

    Out for delivery

The delivery person brings it to your door and hands it over, the status turns to delivered, and the trip that began at booking is done.

TCI Express delivery time estimates

TCI Express moves parcels and documents across India by road and air, so how long a shipment takes mostly comes down to the route and the service you book. The day ranges below are typical, not promises.

RouteTypical delivery time
Within the same cityUsually 1 to 2 working days
Within the same stateAbout 2 to 3 working days
One metro to another (Delhi, Mumbai, Chennai, Kolkata, Bengaluru, Hyderabad)Roughly 2 to 4 working days, often faster on air/express
Long distance across statesAround 3 to 6 working days, depending on the lane
Remote, hill or rural pin codes5 to 8 working days, sometimes a little more

These are estimates and can change with the service you pick, the actual distance, and heavy festival or holiday loads. For a firm timeline on your route, ask the booking branch.

What affects TCI Express charges?

TCI Express does not charge one fixed amount for every shipment, so you will not find a single price here. Get your item weighed and measured, then ask your nearest TCI Express branch for a quote before you book. If you are checking a parcel you have already sent, TCI Express courier tracking will show its progress, but not the rate you paid.

FactorHow it affects the price
Weight (actual vs volumetric)You pay on whichever is higher. A light but bulky box is charged on the space it takes up, not just the scale weight.
Distance and zoneA nearby city costs less than a parcel going across the country. Farther zones push the price up.
Service type (surface vs express/air)Surface road movement is cheaper but slower. Express or air delivery costs more for the speed.
Document vs parcelA small envelope of papers is usually cheaper than a packed parcel of the same route.
Add-ons (COD, insurance, packing)Cash on delivery, transit insurance and branch packing each add a separate charge on top of the base rate.

Rates differ from branch to branch and change over time. This is a guide to what affects the price, not an official TCI Express price list, so confirm the current charge at the counter before booking.

Common tracking problems

Number not working just after booking
Give it some time. A consignment number usually goes live once the goods are picked up and entered at the branch, not the second the slip is printed. Still blank the next day? Ring the booking branch.
Number not recognised at all
Type it again, slowly, exactly as printed on the lorry receipt. It's easy to mix up 0 and O, or 1 and I. And check you're not punching in an order or invoice number from the sender by mistake.
Status stuck on the same line for days
On long road routes, goods can sit between branches for a day or two, more so over weekends. That's normal for surface transport. But if nothing has moved for several days, call the booking branch with your number and ask where it is.
Goods reached the branch but not delivered
Sometimes the lot waits at the destination branch for you to collect it, or because the address or phone number was incomplete. Check your TCI Express courier tracking status, then phone that branch to ask: are they delivering, or holding it for you?
Shows delivered but nothing arrived
First, ask around the address. A neighbour, the watchman, the shop next door. Someone may have signed for it. If nobody has it, call the destination branch with your consignment number and the receipt and ask who took it.
Part of the load is missing or damaged
If only some cartons turned up, or a box looks opened or crushed, don't sign it off as fine. Note it down right then, take photos, hang on to the lorry receipt, and report it to the branch and customer care straight away.
